No stop in Wolfurt needed any more
Trucks heading to Switzerland via Vorarlberg used to stop in Wolfurt: collect the Laufzettel, then on to the border. That is over. With plates, journey number and MRN you pre-notify the truck — the border crossing is recorded at the border customs office where it reaches Switzerland.
I have a journey number
Your forwarder sent you the DTS with the journey number? Then continue right here: enter the journey number, choose the border customs office, add plates and MRN — two minutes.
The JRN comes from the Swiss transport declaration (DTS) in Passar — usually your forwarder or customs agency in Switzerland creates it. We can also create the DTS for you. You can also start the pre-notification without a journey number and add it at the “Declarations on board” step — there you can ask us to create the DTS as well.
What changes
- 01According to the BMF, there is expected to be no Laufzettel from 15 September 2026. For Höchst the Laufzettel ex Wolfurt was possible until 31 August 2026, for Lustenau until 15 September 2026.
- 02Zollstelle Wolfurt (AT930000) thereby loses its role as the central point for exits of exports towards Switzerland — in the words of the BMF.
- 03Without a valid digital pre-notification a vehicle is turned away at the transit customs office. With a pre-notification it drives through without stopping.
How it works now
- 1Notify as beforeYour forwarder or customs agent creates the Swiss transport declaration in Passar and sends you the DTS with the journey number.
- 2Create the pre-notificationEnter plates, journey number and MRN. We file the pre-notification as the registered declarant in Austria — the slip is in your account within minutes.
- 3Drive throughThe driver receives the slip via a link and drives to the border customs office without stopping. The border crossing is recorded there.
Nothing changes on the Swiss side: the export or transit declaration and the transport declaration in Passar with the journey number still come from your forwarder or customs agent. What goes away is the stop at customs. The Austrian pre-notification you do yourself — in two minutes, with us as the registered declarant.
